Approximately 1 million people die every year from suicide that is a mental disorder. Suicide is a complex, multifunctional behavioral phenotype that has a genetic origin: the family history of this disorder increases the risk of it. Family studies and study of twins have shown that the existence of genetic and environmental bases creates suicidal behavior. Family studies in this regard have been designed to investigate the high risk behavior of families. Most studies show that this high-risk behavior is higher in relatives of suicide victims. All reports have shown that the suicide rate of suicidal parents in suicidal parents has proven to be superior to those of parents who have not experienced suicide. |
