Family history has long been recognized as a significant risk factor for breast cancer. In recent years, important steps have been taken toward the early detection of breast cancer with the expansion of technology and diagnostic techniques, including genomic sequencing and personalized gene profiling. Additionally, diagnosing and screening cancer-causing gene carriers has made it possible to prevent the development of this disease and treat patients in the early stages. Given the importance of genetic science in the development of medicine and treatment approaches, this article introduces the genes associated with familial breast cancer and the diagnostic and treatment measures available to patients. In addition, genetic measures that can be offered in medical genetics laboratories, personalized diagnostic tests, and their importance in identifying effective gene groups in the onset of breast cancer are also introduced. The expansion of knowledge about the genetic causes of breast cancer can be very beneficial in the early detection and effective treatment of patients in the early stages of this disease, where the chance of effective treatment is higher.
